Everyone who knows me, knows I love Laduree Macrons. They're a favourite of mine and if ever I fancy a little treat I'll pop along to the City branch round the corner from my office for a box to take home. I've tried and enjoy the versions elsewhere on the high street, they're good but not the same.
So imagine my delight when mum told me to pop in last week as after our trip to Buckingham Palace she had visited Laduree and brought some macrons for me and a little treat. Mum knows I love anything a little cute and kitsch so she couldn't help but pick up one of the limited edition Laduree special Sonny Angels.
Now I don't think mum realised when she picked up this treat for me that this little character is 'a boyfriend who make you smile and feel at peace'. A little search on the internet tells me that Sonny Angel is a 'cute and angelic little boy who wears all sorts of headgear'. He cannot talk, but he will always look out for you. I love any sort of sentiment like this so he's even more precious than I thought.
You do not know which of the 12 characters you'll find in your specially packaged box so you can imagine my delight when it was Macron Citron, a favourite flavour of mine and at a time when I'm loving anything yellow. Sonny will sit perfectly in my newly decorated bedroom and certainly make me smile.
Of course I'm extremely tempted now to purchase more and complete the collection but for fear of duplicates I think I'm going to allow myself to enjoy the company of just one and his cheeky bum.
