L'Oreal Vs Garnier Micellar Water Battle
Following on yesterday's L'Oreal Vs Garnier eye make up remover post you can read here it's time to turn to their Micellar Water offerings and to be honest I think it's going to read very similar. Before I go on I have to say that whilst micellar waters have a place in my routine and on are a friend on lazy days they are just not something I can get excited about and for the record I'm not into the Bioderma hype either. I have used it and didn't find it any better than those I'm reviewing today and these do not require a cross channel trip to track down.
I spoke of L'Oreal's rectangle bottle and it's habit of dispensing product with no control which is something to consider when you see that their micellar water is £3.32 for 200ml versus the same price of 400ml from Garnier. I'd go so far to say at least 50ml of the L'Oreal solution goes over my floor/dressing table during the period I use it so it would definitely need the formula to be worth the extra expense.
For the purposes of 'this experiment' I used three cotton pads for each side of my face to show how much make up had been removed from my face. That said the second and third pads were more or less clear and would have been picked up by my second cleanse.
The long and short of it again is that there's really no difference, both use the same amount of product and remove my make up equally. Again if I were to be strict with the test I'd say there looks like less product on the L'Oreal pad but when I look at the second and third pads they're matched in having removed all the gunk from my face.
I know some mention their skin feels more or less tight with one or the other of these products but I use a micellar water as my first cleanse of an evening followed with a balm cleanser so I don't find this to be a problem. Even on lazy days when I have been known to leave cleansing to a micellar water only I still follow with toners and night creams and find my skin is not irritated in any way not left feeling tight or uncomfortable.
For me Garnier wins again based on the price and packaging for a good product. I appreciate these have not been the most exciting of reviews but for me micellar waters don't have the same excitement as using a balm cleanser for example nor leave me with any sort of overwhelming benefit that I would urge you to strongly use one or the other.
